A Tryst With Montreal Escort Ezra

Hello darlings and welcome back to our interview series, A Tryst With. We're so glad you're here and you are in for such a treat. We chat with the gorgeous, intriguing, Montreal escort, Ezra! Talking gender, performance, art and sexy clowns, oh my!

How did you get into the industry and what does your journey look like so far?

I've lost my regular 9 to 5 around Christmas time in 2017 because of racist employers. My roommate at the time (and now best friend) is a full time sex worker and it's thanks to them that I've learned about full service sex work which until that moment, I had only heard about it talked negatively. They helped me realize that sex work is a legitimate job and so I decided to give it a try and the rest is history.

What do you think the general public could learn from sex workers?

Sexual wellness, STBBI (sexually transmitted and blood borne infection) prevention, violence and strategies to reduce risk of violence, stigma and strategies to reduce stigma, social and economic insecurity and strategies to reduce this risk, the list goes on and on. Sex workers are so knowledgeable and have been at the forefront of social justice movements and have been caring for the most marginalized members of our society for decades.

Why do you think it is important for sex work to be decriminalized, not just legalized? How would it change the way you are able to work?

Once we recognize that sex work is not inherently exploitative of people, the question becomes: under what conditions can sex work actually benefit people? Before sex work can benefit folks who partake in it, it must first cease to endanger people. I argue that the most essential condition to reduce harm to sex workers is to legalize, decriminalize and legitimize sex work, and provide sex workers with the same rights as other workers. No one should be coerced to sell sex and everyone should be able to leave sex work if and when they choose to, but those who decide to sell sex for a living are entitled to safety, dignity and for their human rights to be protected.

The threats sex workers face are not just from clients or individuals in society; the very system we live within is at the root of much of the violence we face.

We are relentlessly campaigning against the pervasive stigma we face that exacerbates gender-based violence and stops us from accessing help and services we are entitled to.

Decriminalizing sex work maximizes sex workers’ legal protection and our ability to exercise other key rights, including to justice and health care. Legal recognition of sex workers and our occupation maximizes our protection, dignity, and equality. It's also an important step toward destigmatizing sex work.

Lastly, members of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community make up a large portion of sex workers and face disparate impacts in criminalized settings. Anti-sex work laws further marginalize members of my community by dramatically decreasing incomes and allowing for discrimination. Trans women of color are the most impacted by criminalization. If sex work were decriminalized, police would have one less tool to harass and marginalize members of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. Sex workers, and especially trans women in sex work, would have more agency when it comes to their own bodies and livelihoods. Decriminalizing sex work would promote the message that Black trans lives matter.

Are you open to sharing a bit about your experience of being both Black and transmasculine? What's it like for you at those intersections?

I love being Black and transmasculine, but it does come with its own set of struggles. I'm always confronted by either discrimination based on my race/gender or fetishization for the same reasons. I'm a person first and foremost and I wish more people would see me as more than a few labels.

You’re a multidisciplinary artist and performer - can you tell us about your performance work, and if it has influenced and impacted your sex work or vice versa?

My art definitely influences my practice as a sex worker and vice versa. I love being sexy, stripping and just incorporating elements of sex work and kink in my creative outlets.

We love your makeup artistry, especially the work you post on your Insta account. Can you tell us a bit about your love of clown makeup, clowning and how you find being a hot clown online and irl?

I LOVE CLOWNS! Clowning is such a great medium because clowns are genderless. When I put on my white foundation I'm presented with a blank canvas and in that moment I feel free to become whoever and whatever I want. For me the art of clowning is all about shapeshifting and embodying this thing which escapes all societal norms. To me, that's real freedom.

What are your top three tips for nervous first-time clients who are interested in exploring their kinks and fetishes?

C O M M U N I C A T I O N !!!

1.Discuss consent. If you don't know the basics of consent, you must start there. All BDSM is based on this very important concept. Skipping this means you risk doing significant harm to others and to yourself.

2. Explore your fantasies and name your desires. Fantasies belong in your erotic imagination. In fantasies, there are no limitations or consequences. A desire is a craving for a real life experience. Know. the. difference.

3. When you start exploring more intense sexual acts like spanking or bondage, it's important that you be crystal clear about what kind of erotic energy you wish to experience. An erotic spanking can feel sweet, or dominating and raunchy. If you just ask a sex worker to spank you, you may not always get what you want. Once you get specific, we can both relax into our roles and you are far more likely to have the sexual experience you're truly craving.

My favorite color is: Pink, the mother of all color

My favorite piece of kink equipment is: A paddle

My dream pet would be: My cat hehe

My favorite guilty pleasure is: Watching drama videos on YouTube

The last pic I took on my phone was: My partner

A fellow sex worker I find inspiring is: My best friend
