Have you gone looking for a Tryst.link app for your smartphone only to find a range of apps with the name Tryst in them, but don't look like they're from us? That's because there is not an official app for iOS or Android that gives you legitimate access to Tryst.link.
Why don't you make a tryst.link app?
That's a fair question! Apps can be easier to use than websites on a smartphone and are handy for quickly accessing your tryst.link account from anywhere there’s cell coverage. Unfortunately even if we wanted to make an app, Google and Apple won't let us give it to you.
Google's Play Store rules state very clearly that "we don't allow apps or app content that appear to promote or solicit a sexual act in exchange for compensation". Apple's App Store rules are even more explicit, stating "apps that may include pornography or be used to facilitate prostitution" will not be approved by Apple when you submit the app to their store. Apple and Google's rules apply in every part of the world too, not just in locations where sex work is criminalised.
Because there's no other way to get an app on a smartphone besides via Google or Apple's app stores thanks to the locked down nature of a smartphone compared to a traditional computer, there is no tryst.link app and won't be unless there's a significant cultural or regulatory change in how Google and Apple view sex work.
But this app I found is called Tryst, is this not tryst.link?
Nope. They may be using our name, or have a similar name with a different spelling, but whatever that app is offering you is not the tryst.link you know and love.
There is a high risk that these apps claiming to be us may even be elaborate phishing attempts, using the lure of a tryst.link app to intercept your password when logging in to the misleading app. This is one of the reasons we made it mandatory for all Tryst.link users to have 2-step login enabled as even if someone does get your password, they still need the code from your authenticator app or your physical security key to login.
The only way to guarantee that you're using the 100% real and authentic tryst.link is to type tryst.link into a web browser.
Tryst.link has a web app!
Because we are unable to have an app on any of the app stores due to Apple and Google's cowardice to enable sex worker content at least in the areas of the world where it is decriminalised, we have put effort into making tryst.link a "progressive web app". This is nerd talk for a website that looks and feels like a native smartphone app by making it launch full screen and operating independently from your web browser so it doesn't get buried in dozens of tabs.
You can do this by visiting tryst.link in Chrome on Android or Safari on iOS and following the instructions below to add a tryst.link icon on your smartphone's Home Screen.
Tryst.link does not have a smartphone app
Because Google and Apple don't want anything related to sex on their app stores, there is no Tryst.link app for you to download. If you see an app claiming to be Tryst.link, that isn't us and you run the risk of being scammed or hacked by using it!
Visiting http://tryst-fun.fun in your web browser is the only official way of accessing tryst.link. The good news is that you can use the "add to Home Screen" feature of your smartphone's web browser to create a "web app" that acts just like the tryst.link website.
As always, if you're unsure if something you see on the internet is from Tryst.link and want verification, let our support team know.
