TLC Donation Matching Program

One of the ways we give back to our community is by matching donations to sex worker peer organisations. Any member of Tryst.link can donate to organisations listed on this page and have that donation matched in our site currency, Tryst Love Credits (TLC).

In 2020, we launched the TLC donation matching program in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. In that first year, we matched over TLC 10,000 in donations to sex worker peer organisations in TLC credits. Since then, we have matched over TLC 260,000 in donations to organisations fighting for sex worker rights, Black Lives Matter, reproductive rights, and mutual aid. We’re so proud of how well the program has been received and how much funding we've been able to secure for these peer groups.

We've matched more than TLC 260,000 in donations by our users to community organisations since 2020.

Organisations whose work builds on a strong foundation of harm reduction and sex worker rights are vital to the survival of marginalised sex workers. The majority of these organisations are grassroots organisations, run by volunteers from their communities who provide support on the ground to people in need. Harmful legislation and policy, such as the anti prostitution pledge, often prevents these groups from receiving the support and government funding they need. This means that donations are fundamental to maintaining the fight against oppression.

Taking part in the program

The donation matching program is open to all members of Tryst.link donating to one of the organisations listed on this page. We will match one donation per calendar month with a TLC credit to your account.

Matches are accepted in USD, AUD, CAD, NZD, GBP and EUR. One dollar, pound or euro will be converted directly to one TLC. The maximum match is TLC 100 per donation with a maximum of TLC 500 per calendar year. Matches can't be spread across multiple months.

Once you have completed your donation and received a receipt from the organisation, contact our support team and include:

  • The subject line “Donation matching”.
  • A receipt or invoice provided to you by the organisation, or a bank statement showing the transaction. (Reply to the ticket confirmation email to attach this.) Make sure it shows:
    • The full date of the donation.
    • The name of the organisation.
    • The donation value and currency.
    • Any further information that can help us verify your evidence, like the reference number on a tax invoice or bank statement. If you're providing a receipt that was emailed to you, please supply it as a screenshot which includes the email header.
  • The URL or slug of the profile that you want the credit applied to.

Submit a donation match request

We’ll verify your receipt and confirm your eligibility for a credit, then process it and let you know. Processing can take 3–7 business days, so make sure to get your receipts in early before your renewal is due.

If your receipt shows your real name or address, you can redact or remove these before sending it in to us, as long as we can still verify the details we need.

Please ensure that you submit your donation matching request within 30 days of the donation, and within the calendar month that you are making a credit claim for. We may not be able to credit for donations that are submitted late or contain mismatched dates.

I want to donate to an org not listed here

If you'd like to donate to an organisation or fund that isn't on our list, please reach out to let us know. We review all suggestions before adding them to the program, which can take a while. We appreciate your patience as we do our research. To request an addition, send us a request that includes:

  • The organisation's name.
  • A link to their website.
  • Any social media links/handles that may help us understand the org better.

I’m a client, can I take part too?

While our client accounts don’t have TLC balances, you can have your donation matched as TLC given to a provider with a Tryst.link listing.

Please discuss your participation with the provider you nominate first. Some providers may not want to accept matched donations, or may have already hit their donation matching limit for the month.

Once you have completed your donation and received a receipt from the organisation, contact our support team and include:

  • The subject line “Client donation matching”.
  • The profile URL that you want the credit applied to.
  • Your name and email address, which we’ll provide to the recipient when they receive your match.
